Telemark — Norway in miniature
From the eternally snow-capped peaks of Gaustatoppen to the wild expanses of Hardangervidda, from the UNESCO World Heritage in Rjukan and Notodden to medieval stave church architecture — Telemark has it all.

A county that contains all of Norway
Telemark is one of Norway's most diverse counties. Here you will find everything from flat farmlands in the south, deep fjords and lakes in the middle, to wild high mountains in the west and north. It is home to two UNESCO World Heritage sites (Rjukan-Notodden Industrial Heritage), Norway's largest stave church (Heddal), Europe's largest mountain plateau (Hardangervidda), and one of Norway's most characteristic mountains (Gaustatoppen).
Telemark was also the stage for some of World War II's most important resistance actions — the Heavy Water sabotage at Vemork. The combination of industrial history, war history, and world-class nature experiences makes the region a truly unique destination.
